As a survivor of child sexual abuse, I learned a creative way to remove myself from experiencing something to cruel for any child to bear. As a result there were many psychological effects and problems that remained. One of the basic losses was semantic knowledge and routine skills, like reading and writing or better off known as cognitive dissonance.

Spring is near…

Morning thoughts
Monday, March 8, 2010

Good morning and welcome to my world.  It is March 8th, 2010 and a fine morning at that.   It’s so good to be back to my morning thoughts as; it’s been awhile since I planted myself to my keyboard upon wakening.  What a perfect morning to do so.  As the windows are open and the birds have returned the clock on the wall chimes it’s 8.00 A.M.

Doors and windows are already open.  My kitties are sitting in the wide open door way, listening to the birds and licking their chops.  Sounds off in the distance of the nearby traffic are in direct competition with the morning birds.  It is going to be one of those glorious days.

As I sit here with my eyes closed tuning into the sounds of the morning I become aware of another sound.  I realize that my heat is still on. Ahhh, Phooey! Not a good thing to be heating the outdoors. Hmmm, that means that the temperature outside has not reached 65 yet as that is where my heat is set.  I don’t believe it will get quite that high today so I guess I need to shut it off.  Excuse me for one minute as I must get up to shut the heat off.  Spring is still very young in New England this time of year.

O.K. I’m back, so sorry for the interruption; tuning my mind back to the sounds of the present moment.  I listen closely to the cars from a distance they sound like ocean waves, but hence the birds are not quite a match for the mighty seagull.  So o.k. it’s not exactly by the seashore but it’s still a glorious morn.  What will I encounter today? My thoughts begin to interrupt and whisk me away.  What is my action plan?  My thoughts begin to unwind in my head.  Oh, I just wish I could write all day.  Nothing more, just write.  I dream for one minute and think.  If I am lucky this is what my golden years will be.  Sitting and writing about all of life.

Sage Sense Today

Today I will cherish this moment in time. I will pay particular attention to the passing of time and place an emphasis on, ‘ the value of time and friendship’.

Sometimes we take life and those people that we value most for granted.  Life takes on a course of it’s own and we can’t seem to slow it down. We are not aware of the passing time or don’t pay attention to the tiny wake up calls that are right in front of our eyes.

We take life for granted; we seem to forget that this very moment may in fact be the last moment that we see our loved one alive. The last kiss, the last good bye, the last hug, the last conversation. It is conceivable that this may be yours or your loved ones very last moment on this earth. [Read more →]
